Coach Education Programme
The cost of the course is £130 per candidate or £120 for a FA Charter Standard Club Coach.

On completion of the course, candidates will be able to demonstrate an ability to safely organise and supervise football activities (including mini soccer, small sided and conditioned games) for a variety of age groups; promote and establish working relationships and high standards of behaviour with players, coaches, parents and officials in the overall development of the game; understanding all related aspects of coaching children in football including Coach and Player Development; Good practice throughout the club, health and safety, club administration and basic laws of the game; and awareness of further personal development opportunities in football.
Course overview -
The level one qualification provides candidates with an opportunity to study and be assessed for both the practical and theoretical aspects of coaching football.
The knowledge gained will enable candidates to develop a basic understanding of safe, ethical and effective coaching for young people. It is a stepping stone to other vocationally related areas in football including coaching administration, officiating and sports therapy.
Candidates must be 16 years old prior to the start of the course.
Course of Learning -
There will be seven theory-based course tasks which will be delivered, involving both individual and group work:
• Player & Coach Development
• Football Coach Administration
• Soccer Parent
• Football For All
• Delivery of Football Activity Session
• Laws of the game
• Assessed Practical Task
Practical -
The internal tutor will deliver a number of the practicals that you will take part in. You will also have the opportunity to deliver a practice with colleagues that will allow the tutor to feedback to individuals and the group to enable you to identify strengths and weaknesses, design personal session plans and complete a football coaching review sheet after a short question and answer with the internal assessor.
The FA Safeguarding Children in Football Workshop -
This is a certificated three-hour course. On completion of the workshop the certificate will be mailed direct to the address you register and should arrive within four to six weeks.
The FA Emergency Aid Workshop -
This is a certificated three-hour course. On completion of the course you will be sent your certificate.
These workshops are included as part of the internal course delivery.
