The purpose of the focus group is to:
• Ensure football clubs are supported and can grow and develop
• Give clubs the opportunity to directly effect and guide how football develops in the district
• Provide a forum for clubs to share ideas e.g. how clubs have worked towards and achieved charter standard or developed their junior sections
• Disseminate relevant local information from Derbyshire County FA to clubs e.g. Charter Standard updates, coach education courses, funding and promotional opportunities
• Access funding and distribute between member clubs to benefit football in the district
• Link with the School Sports Partnership and other organisations to ensure football and football clubs are represented in the wider context
This is a chance for the members of the group to put together a Football Action Plan where they can work towards common goals and needs within the local area with the support of the relevant authorities. E.g. a representative from the local authority and a DCFA Football Development Officer. Members of the groups must attend on a regular basis.
