What is Mentoring?
A relationship built through a series of workshops to develop coaches’:
• Technical and professional skills
• Develop further knowledge and understanding
• Improved competence in coaching
• Helpful attitudes and habits (e.g. confidence, organisation)
• Awareness of potential coaching pathways
• Clarity about personal values and goals
The Mentoring program is aiming to increase knowledge and confidence of active coaches and to give these coaches ongoing support. From this we hope that the coaches will develop as effective coaches working with their players and reach their potential
Derbyshire FA's Next Female Mentoring Event:
Hope Powell to visit the East Midlands
England Women’s Head Coach, Hope Powell is to visit the East Midlands on Thursday 29th April to deliver a coaching session to the Female Mentoring Scheme members of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

East Midlands Female Coach Mentoring Programme
In 2008 the Football Development Officers responsible for Girls & Women’s Football are co-ordinating “The East Midlands Female Mentoring Programme.” This is open and available to all Level 1 female football coaches that are based within Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Lincolnshire and Leicestershire.
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills as a football coach and share ideas with other female coaches from the East Midlands.
