DCFA recently recognised our County Charter Standard Award winners with a presentation at Moor Farm, the Derby County training ground.
The FA Charter Standard Scheme is ‘kite mark’ and the best practice guide that sets standards of coaching, administration and child protection for all clubs outside the Football League and Premier League. As a benchmark for quality, it will improve the playing experience for all. The FA Charter Standard Clubs programme, supported by FA Community Partner McDonalds, was launched in February 2001 and is a core component of The FA Football Development programme.
This year's winners were invited to Moor Farm and received their awards from the Derbyshire CFA Chairman, Dave Heron and John Vicars, the Vice President – Operations at Derby County.
The award winners are:
Charter Standard Club – Glossop North End Juniors
Charter Standard Development Club – Carr Vale Colts
Charter Standard Community Club – Ilkeston Town Juniors
Charter Standard Primary School – Roe Farm Primary, Chaddesden
Charter Administrator of the Year – Maxine Harlow, Hilton Harriers
Charter Standard Coach of the Year – Andy Graham, Hilton Harriers
All winners received a certificate or pennant, and a bag of kit and equipment. All nominees were sent forward to be considered for the regional East Midlands award
We would like to congratulate all our winners for their hard work and outstanding contributions to football in the county, and to Derby County for their support with the presentations.
Jon Woodward, County Football Development Officer, commented, “It is a great achievement for these clubs and volunteers to be recognised for their hard work and dedication to grass roots football in the county. To be able to visit Moor Farm for a tour of the facilities was of huge interest to them all. It is great to see clubs and volunteers who have not won awards previously to be here, but to see the likes of Maxine Harlow from Hilton Harriers winning an award for a 5th consecutive year displays a commitment and an enthusiasm to support and develop local football.
