Kick It Out – One Game One Community Week’s of Action

Kick It Out – One Game One Community Week’s of Action (The 2009 Weeks of Action will take place between the 15th and 27th October.)The One Game, One Community Weeks Of Action are one of the most prominent equality and community engagement initiatives in the country. The weeks have a strong community focus and play a role in celebrating diversity and inclusion.

Across Derbyshire the Following Events Will be Taking Place:

South Derbyshire Council’s Sports Development and Youth Services are hosting several events over the weeks of action. The Youth Service will be providing a mobile and with the help of the children they have already engaged they will produce information regarding Kick It Out to ensure a message is being sent. On the 24th the South Derbyshire Youth Service will be putting together teams for the Youth Service Tournament being held at Clowne. Please see the attached time table for the South Derbyshire Events in the related documents section on the right.

Members of the Derwent Kickz Project, Hat-trick project and Derby City Council will be hosting a Kick It Out tournament and workshops on 24th October. Local clubs from the Derby City area have been invited to compete in this event. These young people will then attend the Derby QPR game and parade around the pitch to promote the campaign.

The Derbyshire Youth Service is to host a Kick Racism Out Of Football (KROOF) tournament; being held at Clowne College on 24th October 2009 as a celebration of diversity and inclusion. Youth Services from districts and boroughs from around the county will be coming together to participate in this one day event.

This five a side football tournament is open to all young people from years 8 -11.

There are four categories;
Young Women Years 8 – 9
Young Men Years 8 – 9
Young Women Years 10 - 11
Young Men Years 10 – 11

(Please note that these are school years)

Entrees for the young men’s competitions are now closed

On the day there will be live music, mobiles with quizzes and competitions such as an Anti-Racism poster competition and the cross bar challenge.


Football 4 GALS. Organised by Derbyshire FA girls can develop their football skills at a special two-day course for eight to 16 year olds. The programme runs on Monday 26 and Tuesday 27 October from 10am to 3pm and will have am emphasis on the Kick It Out Weeks of Action Campaign.
