New U21 teams needed in Derby City League

Derby City League are encouraging new U21 teams to join their league for next season.

Since the U21 division was introduced at the start of the 2013/14 season it has been a success, due to a high number of teams making the transition from U18’s to U21’s and then finally making the transition into open age football. The Derby City League launched U21 football to address the decline in players within the 16-21 age groups.

Football Development Manager, for Derbyshire County FA, Liam Rooney added “To ensure the smooth transition from youth to adult football the U21's league has helped players to flourish and aided their development into open age football."

All U21 fixtures will take place on a Sunday morning. For more information about the U21’s division please contact the Derby City League Secretary, Tony Kemp, via email or phone 01332 882587.
