U16 Derbyshire Girls Rep Squad Flying High

Derbyshire Schools FA Under 16 Girls representative squad continue to demonstrate their ability after sealing a spot in the Final of the Inter County…

The Representative squad, made up of secondary school girls from across the county, have been in impressive form all season and they now have the chance to win the Final of the Inter County East Midlands League, where they will face either Nottinghamshire or Staffordshire in the showpiece game.

This follows on from their successful Semi Final win in the National Inter County Cup competition a couple of weeks ago, where they will now face Sussex Schools FA in the Final, to be played tomorrow, 9th May, at 4pm at St. Andrew's Stadium, home of Birmingham City FC.

The girls have only lost 1 game all season under the management of Bryan Bennett and are now looking forward to two finals in quick succession. Regardless of the outcome of the two finals, this has been a hugely successful campaign and it will lay the foundations to develop girls' schools football even further next season.

We wish the Derbyshire girls good luck and we will report on their efforts in the National Final later in the week.
