Grassroots Coaches Support Evening at Derby County RTC

This is a fantastic opportunity for coaches to observe sessions delivered by the Derby County RTC coaches.

Derbyshire County FA are encouraging clubs across Derbyshire to send their coaches to this event as it will help to develop a good relationship with Derby County RTC who are keen to make sure this event is a success so they can host more in the future.

Derby County RTC coaches will be delivering the sessions throughout the evening and the format will be as follows:

• 5 - 6pm Attacking finishing techniques and application (U10 & U12)
• 6 - 7pm Strength and Conditioning session with (U14 & U16)
• 7 - 8pm Defensive transition and regain shape (U14 & U16)

There will be opportunities during the sessions to ask any questions on what the Derby County RTC Coaches are delivering.

Once the practical sessions have finished at 8pm we will then go into the sports centre where representatives from Derby County RTC will deliver a presentation explaining their structure and what their aims are for the future.

The Derby County Girls’ Regional Talent Club (RTC) aims to deliver enhanced coaching and support designed to improve the development of elite female players, through the FA Girls’ England Talent Pathway. There are 34 national RTC-approved FA elite development centres which hold a licence.

Derby County Girls RTC have four teams in the following age groups:

  • Under 10s and Under 12s – Both teams play in the Derby Junior Boys League.
  • Under 14s and Under 16s – Both teams play in the FA Girls’ England Talent Pathway North League.

Liam Rooney, Derbyshire County FA Football Development Officer said, “This is a fantastic opportunity for our grassroots clubs across Derbyshire to send their coaches to observe Derby County RTC coaches in action. The event is the perfect platform for coaches to gain vital knowledge and new ideas from the sessions that are delivered throughout the evening. Derbyshire County FA are really keen for Derby County RTC to develop good relationships with our grassroots clubs as it will benefit everyone as we work in partnership to develop female football across Derbyshire.”
