The National Games Of Remembrance - 2018

The National Games Of Remembrance

Derbyshire FA
A special event heads to the East Midlands

To mark the Centenary of the end of WW1, the National Games of Remembrance brings a very special event to Nottingham on the 8th November.

For children and young people from Nottinghamshire and the East Midlands there is a very special opportunity to be involved in the Greatest Games of Remembrance to mark the Centenary of the end of WW1. The Games will be played at Notts County FC and Nottingham Forest FC, on Thursday 8 November 2018, between the British Army and the German Armed Forces football teams.

We would encourage schools to organise a school trip to attend a Games of Remembrance match. To support school trips, the Women’s Match has been scheduled for a 12pm kick-off and there will also be a youth fan zone with many activities for children to enjoy. The match experience will include displays, military music and will create a very special commemorative occasion in full partnership with the German Armed Forces.

There will be some funds available to help cover the cost of coaches and minibuses and a limited number of free tickets set aside for organised school trips.
