Derbyshire Volunteer Selected for FA National Leadership Academy

Derbyshire FA
DCFA YLTM Member, Stella Bredgaard, will now head to St Georges Park

Derbyshire volunteer, Stella Bredgaard, has been selected for the FA National Leadership Academy 2018. The FA National Leadership Academy will be held at St Georges Park in August 2018 and is an opportunity for young leaders from across the UK to meet, further develop their leadership skills and further understand the objectives of the FA and County FA networks.

The residential event, delivered early August, will see 45 young leaders from across the UK descend on St Georges Park for 4 days. Throughout the week, the main aim will be to improve the individual and collective capability of the youth leaders and the network of Youth Councils and Forums to meet the joint new organisational objectives.

“Stella’s success being selected for the national leadership academy is fantastic news and the week is a great opportunity for her to further develop and increase her self-confidence. Stella has been involved in the Derbyshire County FA Young Leader Management Team this season and has shown great enthusiasm for getting involved in opportunities that are sent her way.”

“The FA National Leadership Academy is an opportunity that is perfect for her and will allow her to learn more about leadership outside of Derbyshire and further understand the structures and wider objectives. To have the opportunity to speak with other young leaders, learn from others around her, share her journey with others and have a week where she can fully immerse herself in activities and be around other young people who share a common interest and shared passion is fantastic and we wish Stella all the best.” expressed Lauren Mellor, Derbyshire County FA.

Stella is currently supporting Derbyshire County FA with the development of a Female Football Leadership Hub in Derby City, where she is able to provide support and mentoring to younger females who are starting their leadership journey. The FA Leadership Academy will further develop her skillset, which will have a positive impact on her role when working closely with the females as part of the hub in Derby.

Any individuals wishing to get involved in leadership opportunities in Derbyshire should contact Lauren for further information via email, lauren.mellor@derbyshirefa.com.
