Nominations open for Grassroots Football Awards 2020

The Grassroots Football Awards 2020 are now open for nominations, giving you the opportunity to recognise and reward your local grassroots heroes.

The awards, which are open until Monday 18th May, represent a chance for your to recognise those in your local community that make grassroots football so special to you.

From supporters, referees, coaches or volunteers, winners will be those whose actions and behaviours make The FA’s PRIDE (Progressive, Respectful, Inclusive, Determined, and Excellent) values part of the game for their clubs, leagues and communities.

Last year, the Derbyshire FA recorded a record number of nominations, and we want even more this time around!

Last year’s winner of Grassroots Coach of the Year, Lizzie Pacey, was also the eventual winner of the same award on a national level, and was invited to the national ceremony at The FA Community Shield in August.

We know that there are hundreds of worthy winners across the county, and we want to make sure they get properly recognised for their fantastic work, but that can’t happen without nominations!

This year’s categories are:

  • Grassroots Coach of the Year (Adult Teams)
  • Grassroots Coach of the Year (Youth Teams)
  • Grounds Team of the Year
  • Grassroots Club of the Year
  • Volunteer of the Year
  • Rising Star of the Year
  • We Only Do Positive Respect
  • Grassroots Project of the Year
  • Grassroots Match Official of the Year
  • Grassroots League of the Year

Individuals should be nominated by someone else (not themselves), while anyone can nominate their own club and/or league.
