Match Report: Graham St. Prims 0-4 Derby County U23

Jake Rooney stars as The Rams advance in the Derbyshire FA Senior Challenge Cup.

Goals from Rhys Brailsford, Jake Rooney, George Nunn and Lennon Wheeldon saw Derby U23's record an impressive victory against Graham Street Prims at The Fred Harding Ground.

The opener came for Derby U23's in the 7th minute as Rhys Brailsford poked the ball past Louis Harris following a deep free kick taken by George Nunn.

A Max Bardell effort following a corner was cleared off the line in the 20th minute, as Derby went in search of a second.

Nunn's effort from a free kick in the 31st minute beat both the keeper and wall, but was denied by the crossbar.

A great ball over the top from Jack Bates saw Nunn in on goal, five minutes from the restart. However, the former Chelsea man could only fire wide of the far post.

In the 52nd minute, Brailsford almost doubled his tally, but Harris was able to make a fine reactionary save at his near post.

A second goal came in the 66th minute when Jake Rooney arrived unmarked in the area to convert an Aghatise corner.

Ten minutes from time and Nunn got his much deserved goal, striking home the loose ball from a corner.

A fourth was added minutes later as substitute Lennon Wheeldon slid the ball into an empty net following a cutback from Aghatise.

The victory sees The Rams advance into the Quarter Final of the Cawarden Derbyshire FA Senior Challenge Cup.
