Improve playing surfaces with PitchPower and the Grass Pitch Improvement Programme with FF Funding

The Football Foundation have a simple online tool called PitchPower to help you inspect and improve your grass pitches.

The need for this service is more relevant now than ever, given the current economic times and the pressures facing grassroots football.

Derbyshire County FA works closely with Grounds Management Association to offer support and advice with the aim to improve the quality of grass pitches across Derbyshire. The Football Foundation Grass Pitch Maintenance Fund provides eligible clubs and leagues with tapered six-year grant to help them sustain grass pitches already at a ‘good’ level and enhance grass pitches that are either considered ‘poor’ or ‘basic’

We all understand the need for good quality pitches- to increase participation and safety, to allow pitches to be playable throughout the season, and to give that “wow factor” to children and adults alike!

If you would like some more information on the processes involved in accessing the Football Foundation funding or would like to get started with a grass pitch assessment visit, please email pete.rigney@derbyshirefa.com

To request a PitchPower assessment visit through one of our Regional Pitch Advisors, please click here. Alternatively, you can carry out PitchPower assessments yourself using the app, which can be downloaded here. More Derbyshire specific information on the process can be found at https://www.derbyshirefa.com/facilities-and-funding.

See below a fantastic example of the impact that the Grass Pitch Improvement Programme has had on some sites across Derbyshire. This is Booths Playing Fields, Ilkeston before and AFTER PitchPower.
