Coaches at the events are almost always female, from local FA Charter Standard clubs or the girls FA Centre of Excellence, as a County FA this is important to us because the girls need positive role models from their own areas.
By creating a safe and enjoyable environment the girls are able to comfortable engage in activities and socialise with others in the group. This has led to positive success over the few years with many girls moving into FA Charter Standard club football and onto FA Centres of Excellences.
We pack the day with events such as football skills & drills, tournaments, workshops (topic depends on the time of the year, team building activities and so on. We always rewards the girls with a certificate of attendance and some goodies.
Sometimes the girls are lucky enough to meet an England Women’s player!
Girls from all over the county attend the sessions, Kayley (12) shared what she thought of Football 4 Girls, “I really enjoyed today, and it was really fun. I got to see my friends and play football. I’m now looking forward to the next Football 4 Girls event.”
Katy (12) said “I have really enjoyed Football 4 Girls. It gives us something really fun to do in the holidays. I like how any ability of girl can come and play and improve our skills. It is a great opportunity to make friends and just really show our love for football!”
Remember whatever your ability you are welcome to come and have fun at Football 4 Girls!
