The FA Girls' Football Festival

The FA Girls Football Schools Partnership

The FA will create strategic partnerships with families of schools that are committed to the growth and development of girls’ football.

The Youth Sport Trust and The Football Association have introduced FA Girls Football School Partnerships (FA GFSP’s) that are collaborative partnerships aimed at increasing participation of girls in football within the education pathway.

This includes participating in football during the school day, after school, and also involvement through leadership opportunities.

In Derbyshire, there are 3 FA Girls Football School Partnerships; Derby City, Erewash and Bolsover.

The FA GFSP’s work closely with their respective network of primary and secondary schools to provide teacher training and resources to enable the schools to get more girls playing football.

These partnerships are supported by the County FA and aim to support the growth of female football participation within the education sector.

Derbyshire County FA aim to encourage the girls who get involved within their school setting to make their step to playing or volunteering at local grassroots clubs.
