There are so many exciting opportunities for young players to get into the local grassroots game across the county and we are here to help support you do that.

From Mini-Soccer for youngsters taking their first steps in the game, to kick abouts for those who want to keep their football on a recreational level and everything else in between. Following the success of the England Lionesses at the World Cup in 2015 and good performance in this summer’s Euros, there is a real buzz around girls and women’s football within the county. Couple this with the new FA Women and Girls Strategy and we're in for some exciting times in the game.

The bronze medal-winning Lionesses spoke of inspiring the next generation and creating a legacy. They have certainly done just that and continue to do so – and The FA and Derbyshire County FA are fully behind developing the game at all levels.

Derbyshire Girls and Ladies League 

The Derbyshire Girls and Ladies League (DGLL) is an FA Charter Standard Football League for girls and women that want to play the beautiful game in the county.

The DGLL provides competition for players from U10 to Open Age - offering formats for all ages, from small sided to 11v11.


In Derbyshire we are lucky to have two FA Women’s Premier League Clubs, Derby County Ladies FC who compete in the FA Women’s Premier League Northern Division and Long Eaton United Ladies who compete in the Midlands Division 1.
