Here are the latest updates from Derbyshire Sport regarding funding schemes that are currently available to clubs, organisations and projects in Derbyshire.
The DET is running its own capital grant programme aiming to distribute around £30,000 per annum, with a preference for funding either one larger project, or a number of medium sized ones. Examples of the type of project that would be eligible include the provision, maintenance and repair of: children's play areas, skate parks, MUGAs, sports fields and other recreational facilities. The deadline is 8th September 2017.
They have 164 pots of £500 to give away to support the development of local grassroots groups from across the UK. The winners are chosen by a public vote. The deadline is 31st July 2017.
The '5 Ways to Wellbeing' can be used to both improve individual wellbeing and to provide a framework for strategic planning and service design. Applicants can apply for any amount from £500 up to £3,000. The closing date is 5.00pm on Friday June 23rd 2017.
‘Freemasons Derbyshire’ which will support equipment and resources up to £2K; the Police and Crime Commissioner for Derbyshire Fund, which supports community safety projects and projects which tackle anti-social behaviour with grants of up to £1,000; and the Tom Carey Fund which supports projects and groups operating in the Abbey Ward area of Derby City with grants up to £10,000.
Businesses involved in tourism can benefit from a new £150k grant scheme aimed at boosting the local cycling economy. Supported by the Peak District National Park and Derbyshire Dales District Council, small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) can learn more about the grants at the launch of 'Pedal Peak for Business' on Tuesday May 23 (6pm to 8pm) at Hassop Station.
It will be held at the University of Derby on Thursday 25 May 10am to 12:30pm. The Fair provides a great opportunity to talk to representatives from a number of grant funding organisations including the Big Lottery, Foundation Derbyshire and the East Midlands Airport Community Fund.
