More than 33,000 supporters attended last year’s final, a record for the competition, where Arsenal overcame London rivals Chelsea thanks to a goal from Danielle Carter.

Kelly Simmons, FA director of football participation and development, said “It was very important to secure Wembley again for The Final so that we can continue to build the momentum around the growth of the Cup and the women’s game in this country.

“Last year’s Final was another great occasion for the game and with attendances increasing year-on-year, it looks set to be another big moment for women’s football.”
