Mascots Gather at Drayton Manor to Announce UEFA U17 Championship Partnership

Drayton Manor is now an official partner of the UEFA European Under-17 Championship, which takes place in England in May.

Drayton Manor Park is proud to kick off a partnership with the UEFA European Under-17 Championship Final Tournament 2018 as part of a joint initiative to help provide affordable, fun outings for the whole family to enjoy.

The popular theme park, based in Staffordshire, will work with tournament organisers to enhance the overall spectator experience at selected matches, by offering family-oriented content, including some pre-match entertainment from the attraction’s popular mascot, Rory the Lion, as well as running giveaways and competitions at games that will provide additional opportunities for family fun!

The UEFA European Under-17 Championship gives spectators the opportunity to be amongst the first to witness the next generation of English and European football talent; right here, right now. The Championship consists of 31 matches that will take place across ten days at Rotherham United, Chesterfield FC, Walsall FC, Burton Albion, Loughborough University and St. George’s Park from Friday 4th May to Sunday 20th May 2018.

Steve Cooper, Head Coach of the England Under-17 team, said: “We’re extremely grateful for the support of Drayton Manor Park as official partners of the UEFA Under-17 European Championship.

“Drayton Manor’s award-winning attractions draw visitors of all ages, especially families, and this partnership will encourage support for our Young Lions which is great news, as our Under-17s are really looking forward to representing their country on home soil.

“With school friendly kick-off times and affordable ticket prices, young supporters will not get only get to see future football stars performing on their doorstep but can also look forward to taking part in family-oriented competitions being run by Drayton Manor at selected matches.”

In addition to competitions that give members of the public the chance to win two player escort places for the Under-17 England games, Drayton Manor Park will also proudly host the official function for representatives of the 16 participating nations, UEFA delegates and VIP’s.
