Volunteer Opportunities within Grassroots Football in Derbyshire

End of Season Groundsman Workshop Announced

In partnership with the Institute of Groundsmanship we have organised an End of Season Workshop for Grassroots Football Groundsmen in the County.

Following the success and interest in our previous Groundsman Workshops, we’ve organised another one, in partnership with the IOG and FA Pitch Improvement Programme partners Rigby Taylor and Charterhouse Turf Machinery!

We continue to work in partnership with the IOG to deliver The FA’s Pitch Improvement Programme, supporting clubs and volunteers across the County. This workshop is ideal for all grassroots groundsmen in Derbyshire who have the responsibility of maintaining and looking after their club’s pitches.

This particular Workshop will provide an opportunity for volunteers to meet the new IOG Regional Pitch Advisor Julien Morris. Richard Lucas from Charterhouse will be delivering a session on safe operations of use around machinery, whilst Mark Robinson from Rigby Taylor will discuss seed and fertiliser requirements for end of season renovation works.

In addition, we will be discussion the potential to run an IOG Level 1 Course in the County.

Details of the Workshop are as follows:

Date: Wednesday 9th May 2018
Time: 6.30pm-9.00pm
Venue: Hilton Harriers FC, The Mease, Hilton, DE65 5LS
