Groundsman Workshop at Hilton Harriers FC

Grounds Maintenance Workshops Continue to be Popular!

Derbyshire FA
We held another another Grounds Maintenance Workshop with the IOG at Hilton Harriers FC

We continue to work in partnership with the IOG’s Regional Pitch Advisor Julien Morris, to deliver The FA’s Pitch Improvement Programme (PIP), supporting clubs in the County.

The grounds maintenance workshops that form part of this programme are ideal for all grassroots volunteers who have the responsibility of maintaining and looking after their club’s pitches.

The latest Workshop took place at Hilton Harriers FC on the 9th May 2018. In addition to Julien who led the session, the evening was also supported by the Programme’s national partners. Mark Robinson attended from Rigby Taylor Ltd and Richard Lucas from Charterhouse Turf Machinery.

Richard began the evening by delivering an outdoor session on the safe use of machinery using Hilton Harriers FC’s Kubota tractor; whilst Mark led a session on seed and fertiliser requirements for close season.

Julien introduced details around their IOG course content which is something we are looking at organising later in the year. The workshop concluded with a question and answer session with all of the partners involved, so that clubs had the opportunity to ask specific questions about the pitches they are responsible for.

Keely Brown, DCFA’s Head of Strategy & Facilities said, "It was another superb workshop. We have so many passionate volunteers in Derbyshire who do an amazing job. I would like to thank them all for attending and for their ongoing commitment to maintaining pitches across the County. I would also like to thank all of the PIP partner who delivered tonight and Hilton Harriers FC for hosting."
