Derbyshire FA support The Pingle Academy with their Diversity Week

The Pingle Academy hosted a Diversity Week between the 11th and 15th February.

Derbyshire FA showed their support to the important subject by providing delivering Assembly Talks to year 7 and 8 students on Respect in Football, how football and school enable individuals to reach their potential and the initiatives Derbyshire FA run to ensure football is for all in Derbyshire. On Friday 15th February, Derbyshire FA engaged with Year 10 students on a ‘Diversity’ focus group where students discussed ‘What diversity is’, ‘Discrimination’ and Football for All. The work with the year 10 students will be used within an educational film across Derbyshire.

Cath Morton, Welfare and Respect Officer said ‘It was good to be involved in celebrating Diversity week at Pingle Academy, and speaking to the students on how Derbyshire FA engages with all individuals, and the Respect programme which reflects the school ethos ‘Respect- Engage-Succeed’.

Pingle Academy also had a visit from ‘Show Racism the Red Card’ during the Diversity week who delivered an anti-racism workshop.
