Ways to Play Football in Derbyshire

Two new funding pots have opened up for mini-soccer and women's football

The Mini-Soccer Grant and Women's Innovation Fund are now open!

MINI-SOCCER GRANT

 

The ‘Mini-Soccer Grant’ has been introduced by the Derbyshire County FA in time for the 2019/20 season, in an effort to increase participation for 5-11 year olds.

There is £300 available per new team created/per project and applicants can apply for a maximum of two grants. 

If you wish to apply for two grants, an application must be completed and submitted for each £300 grant.

CRITERIA:

  • The Mini Soccer Grant will support the development of new teams that must be affiliated to Derbyshire County FA for the 2019/20 season.
  • The grant can be used for the creation of a new team within the eligible age groups: U7, U8, U9, U10, or to deliver a project that increases participation for 5-11 year olds.
  • The grant can be used for the creation of a boys’ team, girls’ team, mixed team, or disability team.            
  • The grant can be used to increase participation within football or futsal. 
  • Grassroots Clubs must be FA Charter Standard Status (or must achieve it by the end of 2019/20 season).

 

WHAT CAN THE MONEY BE USED FOR?

There are a number of things the funding can be used for, including:

  • Venue fees
  • Recruitment/marketing to attract new players
  • Football Education courses
  • Affiliation fees
  • League fees
  • Pitch fees
  • New equipment
  • Projects/events to engage with children aged 5-11 years old. Note: If delivering a girls project, this is an opportunity to link in with the Women’s World Cup and use the competition to increase female participation.

 

The Mini Soccer Grant opens for applications on Tuesday 7th May 2019 and the application window will close on Friday 7th June 2019.

Applicants will find out by the end of June if they have been successful and will be asked to submit an invoice for the funds and a signed agreement for the team being created/project being delivered.

Due to the expected volume of applications not all applications are guaranteed to be successful.

 

WOMEN'S INNOVATION FUND

 

With the Women’s World Cup just around the corner The Derbyshire County FA Women’s Innovation Fund will engage and inspire females to get involved in football, through the delivery of projects or by creating opportunities for females to play. 

The funding is open to any club affiliated to the DCFA (whether the club has current provision for female football or not). 

Each applicant will need to demonstrate how they will use the funding to help develop the female game within Derbyshire.

Any formats of the game can be used e.g. futsal, walking football or small sided football and can be for any age female football – all projects must be for female football only.

WHAT AREAS ARE PRIORITIES FOR THE FUND?

  • Opportunities for girls and women from diverse backgrounds to play, lead, coach, volunteer, officiate or be role models in their communities.
  • Supporting an increase in Women's Adult Recreational Football, e.g. Just Play - Vets, Novice Women, Mums, Soccercise, Women's Walking Football.
  • Increasing opportunities for girls and women with disabilities to play.
  • Social responsibility football projects where females have traditionally not been targeted (e.g. refugees & asylum seekers, offenders, faith groups).
