Belper runners-up in 'FA Cup of Grounds'
The poll, run by Twitter account ‘beyondtheturnstiles’ or @beyondtheturns1, asks the public to vote for the best football grounds in the country.
Belper came second to eventual winners South Shields FC who play at Mariners Park in Tyne and Wear.
Despite a late surge of votes supporting them, Belper were unable to recover a lead, getting a 39.1% share of the votes, to South Shields’ 41.2% share – York City took third place with 19.7%.
Okay, okay! The nation has spoken - its a GRAND FINAL to be played between @BelperTownFC @SouthShieldsFC @YorkCityFC for the overall title of #facupofgrounds CHAMPION. Off you go! Please retweet @WSC_magazine @Copa90 @PeterRMiles @elisjames @Groundtastic
