Weekly challenges for young people with 'Safe Sid's Matchday Madness'

Young people across Derbyshire will be able to take part in weekly football challenges throughout March as part of ‘Safe Sid’s Matchday Madness’.

Kids can submit videos showcasing their skills by completing the four challenges, as part of the Derbyshire FA’s ongoing work to hear the voice of young people.

Every Monday, the Derbyshire FA will announce the winner of each challenge, and post the champion’s submission on their social media channels to celebrate the Matchday Madness. Each winner will also collect a prize, which will be revealed soon.

The challenges are outlined below:

Week 1 (March 1st to March 7th) – Recreate your Favourite Goal

Using a safe space, Safe Sid wants to see you recreate your favourite goal.

This could be Kieran Trippier’s free kick against Croatia, or for the more daring, Oliveir Giroud’s scorpion-kick, but you can choose any goal you like.

The more creative the better!

Week 2 (March 8th to March 14th) – Soccer Skill (e.g. Keepy-Uppy)

Show Safe Sid you best skill. He particularly loves a Brazilian Toe Tap!

Week 3 (March 15th to March 21st) – Favourite Goal Celebration

In a safe space re-enact your favourite goal celebration. *Lots of fortnight and FIFA celebrations incoming*

Week 4 (March 22nd to March 28th) – Design your Football Kit

Let’s get arty!

Safe Sid would love to see your designs of a new kit!

This can be the team you play for, the team you support, or both!

Need some inspiration? Have a look at the 1992 Birmingham City home kit.

Please keep your videos as short as possible (maximum 30 seconds) and get a parent or guardian to submit them through this link.

Good luck to all the participants, Safe Sid can’t wait to see your Matchday Madness!
