Free online grass pitch workshop to support groundskeepers across Derbyshire

On Tuesday 30th November the DCFA and Grounds Management Association (GMA) are hosting a virtual workshop to provide support to local groundskeepers.

The workshop, which is free to attend, will focus on the Football Foundation’s PitchPower tool which allows clubs to complete their own pitch inspections directly from a mobile.

PitchPower will provide a range of support services to clubs, volunteers and groundskeepers including evaluations with practical advice and recommendations to improve the quality of pitches.

The session will also demonstrate how to use the Football Foundation’s new Groundsmanship Hive app, an online community of groundskeepers.

Once signed up, groundskeepers can join Derbyshire-specific networking group, where they can connect with others across the county, and seek expert advice.

The workshop will also cover the following:

  • Autumn & Winter Pitch Maintenance – practices & tips;
  • Football Foundation Grass Pitch Maintenance Fund;
  • Q&A with representatives from Rigby Taylor Ltd, Larch Groundwork Ltd and GMA.

The online session will be held on Tuesday 30th November via Microsoft Teams from 7pm to 8.30pm, and will be led by Liam Rooney, Football Development Manager at Derbyshire FA, and Kevin Duffill, Regional Pitch Advisor at GMA.
