DCFA Women's Cup Final: Chesterfield Ladies v Derby County Women Development
The final of the 2022/23 Cawarden Derbyshire Women’s Cup will be Chesterfield Ladies vs Derby County Women Development.
Chesterfield entered the competition in the First Round, beating Hilton Harriers 14-0. The Spireites beat Belper Town in the Second Round, by the same resounding 14-0 score. The Quarter-Final saw Chesterfield defeat Ilkeston Town 4-0. Finally, their journey to the final was complete after a 3-0 Semi-Final victory against Draycott Victoria.
In their four Women’s Cup games this season, Chesterfield have scored 35 goals and conceded 0. Efficient. This is also the first time Chesterfield have reached the final of the Women’s Cup, having been knocked out of the Semi-Finals in the previous three years.
Serial winners of the competition, Derby County Development, entered the competition at the Quarter-Final stage, beating Long Eaton United 3-1. In the Semi-Final, the Rams comfortably beat Amber Valley Ladies 15-0.
Since the introduction of the competition in 2011/12, Derby County have won it eight times.
