On Friday 28th July 2023, Derbyshire County Football Association unveiled a plaque in recognition of Keith Compton, former Derbyshire FA Secretary (1988-2007) and Chief Executive Officer (2007-2010).

The plaque, unveiled at Derbyshire FA Offices, was unveiled by Geoff Thompson, former Chairman of The FA, along with Dawn Heron and Frank McArdle. It is a fitting tribute to an individual who gave so much to grassroots football in Derbyshire. Present at the unveiling were members of Derbyshire FA's staff and board, appreciating and honouring the contributions of Keith Compton.
