The final of the 2022/23 Cawarden Derbyshire Sunday Junior Cup will be Brampton Victoria vs Long Eaton Magpies.

Brampton Victoria, of the Chesterfield & District Sunday Football League, have had a thrilling cup run including two penalty shoot out wins. In Round One, an exhilarating tie against Clowne Wanderers Reserves ended in a 3-3 draw, with Brampton winning the penalty shootout 4-3. It was another close match-up in Round Two, as Brampton beat Spartans 2-1. Round Three saw Brampton Victoria vs Dizzy Duck, with the home side coming away with a convincing 4-1 victory. The goals kept coming in the Quarter-Finals, as Brampton blew The Bott & Shoe away with a 5-0 win. Finally, in the Semi-Final, Brampton faced a trip to AFC Chaddesden. After a 2-2 draw, Brampton came away with a penalty shoot out win to confirm their place in the final.

Long Eaton Magpies’ run to the final has been impressive, with a flurry of goals being scored by the Euro Soccer Long Eaton Super League Division One side. In Round One, the Magpies received a bye. Round Two saw a 7-1 victory against The Norman Arms. In Round Three, Long Eaton travelled to Dronfield Wanderers and came away with a 4-0 victory. In the Quarter-Finals, The Magpies beat Eaton Angels 2-0. Their journey to the final was complete with a 4-0 victory against Cat & Fiddle.

The final will take place at Matlock Town FC’s Proctor Cars Stadium on Sunday 2^nd April 2023 (11:00 KO).
