England U18s celebrate

Under 18s

Take the next step in your journey

U18 Football can be the perfect stepping stone between Youth and Adult Football. The opportunity to play within youth football from the age of 16-18 rather than heading straight into Open Age Adult football can be seen as a great tool for keeping players within the game and Derbyshire County FA are really keen to support this development.

Within the County, we have two Leagues who operate U18 football, these being the Derby City Football League (Saturday and Sunday mornings) and the North Derbyshire Youth Football league (Sunday mornings).

For players, teams and clubs who are interested in playing U18 football, they can contact the following Secretaries from the leagues for more information.

Derby City Football League | Tony Kemp: dcflsec@yahoo.co.uk

North Derbyshire Youth Football League | Andy Bush:

education and football

We also have a number of clubs within the football pyramid who offer players aged 16 and above the opportunity to play and gain an education through their academy programmes. These programmes provide players with the opportunity of playing and being coached at a good level whilst undertaking further education in the form of BTEC qualifications.

For more information on these programmes, you can contact the clubs directly or go to their websites. The clubs that currently run academy programmes are as follows:
Belper Town FC

Matlock Town FC

Mickleover Sports FC

Long Eaton United FC

Derby County Community Trust

Alfreton Town FC
