YLMT to deliver Female Young Leadership Event

The event will take place on Thursday 16th February from 9:30am - 3:30pm at the exclusive Derby Arena (Royal Way, Pride Parkway, Derby, DE24 8JB). It will comprise of both practical and theory based sessions designed to develop the girls’ leadership skills and qualities with a view to building their confidence before going back into their own football communities to develop further.

The day will be delivered predominantly by members of the YLMT with support from County FA staff. Pete Collins, Football Development Officer for Derbyshire County FA spoke of the upcoming event: “ The YLMT have worked hard to develop and informative and engaging day which will help to inspire the young females attending, which in turn can help to inspire more young female players to get involved in the game in an attempt to double female participation as part of the FA’s current For All campaign.”

This event will be the first that the YLMT will run but will form the start of a series of opportunities for female young leaders to meet and share new ideas and good practise as well as gaining further education opportunities within the game.
