Team Leader – Derbyshire FA Youth Council

Job Grade: Voluntary

Job Description:

The Youth Council Team Leader is a role for 16-24 year olds, and they will be responsible for leading the planning, organisation and operations of the team, in conjunction with the Derbyshire FA’s priorities and plan.

The post holder with work closely with Derbyshire FA staff and liaise with several internal stakeholders including local leagues, clubs and bodies. They will also be tasked with creating, building and developing relations with external stakeholders such as other County FA Youth Councils, National FA Youth Council and other sport related organisations.

Key Roles:

Youth Council

  • Develop and deliver a sustainable action plan for the Youth Council.
  • Hold and deliver Youth Council meetings.
  • Aid recruitment of Youth Council members.
  • Represent the Youth Council on the Derbyshire County FA Strategy Group.
  • Represent the Youth Council at wider County FA events.
  • Coordinate regular meetings with the relevant FDO.

General Requirements:

  • Contribute to the sharing of ideas in contribution to the Derbyshire County FA County Plan.
  • Actively work to promote the Youth Council and Derbyshire County FA generally.

The Ideal Candidate:

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience of managing teams/groups of people.
  • Previous experience of working in a variety of environments.
  • Good communication, organisation and time management skills.
  • IT skills necessary for general communication and formal documentation.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours.
  • To adhere to the Derbyshire County FA safeguarding code of conduct at all times.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience in the development of young leaders.
  • A clear understanding of the Youth Council process.
  • Experience in a range of football based roles.
  • Previous experience of using Microsoft Office.
  • Experience of budgeting.
  • Experience of meeting tight and pressured deadlines.
  • Proven knowledge of English Football.
  • Proven ability and knowledge of current Football strategies.

Team Member – Derbyshire FA Youth Council

Job Grade: Voluntary

Derbyshire FA Youth Council members are responsible for the contribution to planning, organising and delivering the operations of the council in conjunction with the Derbyshire FA priorities and plan.

The role is only for people between 16 and 24 years old.

The post holder with work closely with other Youth Council members, notably the team leader, ensuring that the Derbyshire County FA Youth Council are successful in all aspects. They will also be tasked with maintaining and developing relations with external stakeholders such as other County FA Youth Councils, National FA Youth Council and other sport related organisations.

Key Roles:

Youth Council Management Team

  • Attendance of all Youth Council meetings and events.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivering of the action plan for the Youth Council.
  • Commitment to self-development.
  • Commitment to specific sub roles, where required.
  • Representing the Youth Council in the candidate’s local football environment.
  • Representing the Youth Council at wider County FA events.

General Requirements:

  • Contribute to the sharing of ideas in the Youth Council.
  • Contribute to Youth Council outputs.
  • Accountable to individual actions.
  • Actively work to promote the Youth Council and Derbyshire County FA generally.

The Ideal Candidate:
