Hear from some of Derbyshire's grassroots heroes

Every year we search the county for inspirational individuals, people who excel in their environment and who are developing the game in Derbyshire. These individuals are carefully selected by a panel, following the public nomination process, and we then look to reward them at our annual awards evening at the end of the season.

Some have even gone on to succeed on the national stage, by winning the overall FA Community Award in their category.

Here you can listen to a variety of Derbyshire winners who have gone on to win one of our own awards or an FA Community Award.

You never know, one day it could be you.

National Awards Experience

Derbyshire's and Glossop North End Juniors AFC's very own Ben Mills won the National Coach of the Year 2017 Award, and had an unforgettable experience at Wembley for the National Awards Ceremony.

I started to volunteer mainly to boost my CV or to try and see what jobs I could get out of it, but as the years have gone on I have just developed a passion and a love for it. I don’t want to be paid for what I do.
